It is with profound sadness that we share the news of Janet Gurule's passing on October 3, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on November 30, 1969, Janet was a luminous presence in the lives of many as a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Janet is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Anthony Gurule, and their cherished children: Anthony Gurule Jr., his wife Magaly, and their little ones Ezekiel and Sophie; Jerome Gurule; and Roxanne Gurule with her child, Harley. Their lives were enriched by her boundless love and care.
She leaves behind her brother and sister, John and Elizabeth, along with her brother-in-law Henry and their son, Henry, and his children, Anela and Phillip. Janet now rejoins her dear parents, Helen and Paul Zamora, along with other treasured family members, including Auntie Rachel, brothers Earl and Paul Zamora, and cousin Eric’s son Andre.
Her extended family will also feel her absence, including Val and Loretta Lucero and their children, Eric, Daniel, and Robert Lucero, as well as her Auntie Mercy and her children. From her in-laws’ side, Janet is survived by Yvonne Gurule, Jeannie Lucero, Sam Gurule, Eric Gurule, and Lisa Dannenbaum, together with their families who all carry her memory in their hearts.
Janet will forever be celebrated for her warm spirit, unwavering love, and devotion to her family. Her kindness and compassion touched everyone she met, creating ripples of joy that will last long after her departure.
To honor Janet's life, the family invites you to attend a Rosary on October 15, 2025, at 5 PM, held at 2150 Raymac Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that attendees bring carnations. A Mass will follow on October 16, 2025, at 10 AM at the same location, after which Janet will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary.
May her eternal rest bring peace, and may her memory be cherished and a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
