Janet E Hartshorn

Janet E Hartshorn was born on January 3, 1935, in Springfield, New Jersey to Ernest and Clyde Gwathney, She was a longtime resident of Piscataway, New Jersey.

Janet grew up in Springfield and graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High School in Springfield NJ. After High School, Janet worked as a Secretary for The National Clearance Bureau in East Orange. NJ and was one of the fastest typists.

On August 20, 1960 Janet was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ronnie A Hartshorn, and from this union three children were born.

In 1969, Ronnie and Janet moved to Piscataway from East Orange and Janet became a full-time homemaker.

Janet joined Antioch Baptist Church as a young girl and was active in the Church Choir into her adult years.

Janet enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was able to meet and spend some time with her first great grand child Carter. Even during her illness, she still had her maternal instincts intact and responded so lovingly and caring to him.

Janet enjoyed a new hobby, doing word searches and math puzzles during her spare time.

Janet loved to take road trips with Ronnie, but opted to sit in the back seat because of his driving. Janet and Ronnie made frequent trips to Florida with the grandchildren.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Clyde Gwathney, brothers, Herbert (Boise, Herbie) Gwathney, James (Sonny) Gwathney, and Joel Gwathney.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Phyllis L Hartshorn, Janice Hartshorn Green (James) and Rene J Hartshorn: four grandchildren, David B Adams, Joshua A Hartshorn, Jaden Nicole Green and Darien James Green, one great grandchild Carter Jaxon Hartshorn, and a host of relatives and friends.
