Janet Marie Hedden, born August 18th, 1965, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Born and raised in Stirling, Janet was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Known for her quick wit and infectious laughter, she had a remarkable gift for brightening any room she entered. Beyond her humor, Janet possessed a heart that was truly selfless and kind. She was always ready to drop everything to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Many remember how she would give the very shirt off her back to someone in need - honest, real, and deeply caring in every way. Even her truth-telling came wrapped in love.

Janet's family and friends often described her as funny, kind, and endlessly selfless - pure love in motion. She had a way of showing up when she was needed most, offering support, comfort, and light to those around her. Her radiant smile, generosity, and welcoming heart touched everyone she met, and her presence was truly a ray of sunshine on even the cloudiest of days.

She was a dedicated employee of Delta Auto Services in Bound Brook. Outside of work, she enjoyed cheering on the Yankees, spending time with her friends at bingo night, and relaxing with a good crossword puzzle, book, or show. She also loved her "Layla girl," the family dog. Janet's playful spirit shone most brightly in the simple, everyday moments - from family sleepovers filled with laughter and late-night talks to the adventures she shared with her nieces and nephews when she babysat them. She brought warmth, humor, and joy wherever she went, creating memories her loved ones will forever cherish.

She was a devoted daughter to her parents, Robert and Barbara Hedden, with whom she resided and lovingly cared for. Janet is survived by her five siblings: Steven (Stefanie), Nancy (Herb), Bobby (Iris, Santiago, Marcelo, Beatriz), Carol (Brian), and Michael (Jen). She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews: Jason (Slywia, Allie), Scott (Mary Anne, Chloe), Randi (Josh, Colin), Brittany, Christopher, Dru, Catherine, Anthony, Brielle, Lizi, and Nicole - each of whom she cherished deeply.

Janet's legacy is one of laughter, compassion, and unwavering love. Her family and friends will remember her as a beacon of warmth and joy whose presence made the world a brighter and kinder place. An imprint of Janet is on every person she met.

A celebration of Janet's life will be held Saturday, November 1st from 10:00AM - 12:00PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home (1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ).
