Robert "Bobby" O. Tietze**, 86, died peacefully at his home on Monday, September 29, 2025.

Born in Newark, NJ on October 15, 1938, he was a son of the late Margaret (Manus) and Walter Tietze. He was raised in Newark and later lived in Springfield before settling in Stirling, NJ, where he had resided since 1974.

A graduate of East Orange Springfield High School, Bobby proudly served in the National Guard from 1960 to 1961 during the Korean War. He went on to work as a Checker for the International Longshoremen's Association at the Maher Terminal in Elizabeth, NJ, a position he held from 1972 until his retirement in 2000.

A proud veteran, Bobby was a member of the American Legion. He was a regular at the Stirling American Legion Post 484, and after its closure, enjoyed spending time with friends at the Warren American Legion Post 293.

Bobby had a lifelong passion for cars and was highly skilled in bodywork. He also loved the water and owned several boats over the years, including a 32-footer 34 ft Silverton that he used for fishing the Raritan Bay and Atlantic Ocean. Fishing was one of his greatest joys.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dariel (Rossi) Tietze, and his sister, Barbara Barnhart.

Bobby is survived by his daughters, Christina and her husband David Clark, and Deanna Rozansky; and his grandchildren, James and John Clark, and Timothy, Benjamin, Barnhart. and Amanda Rozansky.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 293, Warren, NJ.

Services were private and under the direction of the Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ 07933. For more information and online condolences, please visit **valleymemorialfuneralhome.net**.
