Janet Herdegen

Janet Herdegen, age 86, of Batavia, New York, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, surrounded by all of her children.

She was born on February 28, 1939, the daughter of the late Alphonso Ficarella, Sr. and Mary (Strollo) Ficarella.

Janet will be remembered by family and friends for her boundless selflessness, and unwavering strength, and her deep love of Disney, where she proudly worked for 25 years before retiring.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Duane K. Herdegen, Sr., who passed away on August 10, 2023; siblings, Florence "Bunny" Ficarella Hamilton, Tony Ficarella, Alphonso Ficarella, Jr., and twin sister, Jeanne Woodhoouse.

Janet is survived by her five children and will be greatly missed and cherished forever, Butch (Jaime) of Ponce Inlet, Florida, Mike of Deltona, Florida, Maria of Orlando, Florida, Janna Bernard of Merritt Island, Florida, Janet Suggs (Jim) of Winter Park, Florida.

She is also lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy, happiness and pride.

Janet's legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in all who knew her.
