I very much enjoyed getting to know Janet. She was a student advocate. Janet showed great compassion to students trying to balance school, work, family, and personal struggles. She was the reason many students persevered to earn their degree. She could lighten the mood in meetings with her wit. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and had great stories about the bunny she inherited from her family. She looked forward to spending time with Scott when she retired. I am grateful I had the opportunity to know Janet and cherish her friendship. My condolences to her family and friends,

I met Janet long ago, when she was working on her bachelor's degree, and was one of my Student Orientation Leaders. She always looked out for her students and loved Wichita Stare. Peace to you all in this difficult time.

Janet was a dedicated advocate for her students, and a good friend to all she worked with. I'll always remember her bringing a delicious chocolate sheet cake for anyone's birthday in the office, talking about the trials and tribulations with her pet bunny, and being caught off guard by her sly and mischievous sense of humor at just the right moment. It was an honor to know and work with her as she positively impacted the lives of thousands of students. She will be missed.

I was saddened to learn of Janet's passing. Janet and I interacted often when I served as associate dean in the College of Engineering. In my recollection, she was a kind and professional individual who cared very much for the students without compromising quality. She made a positive impact in the lives of many and will always be remembered fondly.

I have lots of things I'll remember about Janet after working with her for a little over a year, but I'll always remember mine and Janet's affinity for Diet Dr. Pepper and how she would always offer to let me have one of hers that she kept in the work fridge. I remember I was having a really bad day one day and she surprised me by giving me a diet Dr. Pepper. It touched me a lot and almost made me cry because she was showing she cared when I didn't expect anyone to and in a moment I needed that care. Janet had a way of making you feel special. She had such a funny sense of humor that could catch you off guard. I loved hearing about her bunny, her lighthouses, and her fish. I'll miss Janet a lot and am glad I got to know her while I could.

I am so sorry to hear of Janet's passing. Janet was someone I knew I could count on when I needed help in working with a student who needed some extra hand-holding and academic support. Janet was compassionate and wise in her work with students at Wichita State. She left a legacy of students who succeeded because of her commitment and counsel.
