Roy Harold Anthony

On March 1, 2026, Roy Harold Anthony, 87, passed on at the Shelton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shelton, Washington. He was born on January 11, 1939, in Mulvane, Kansas to Harold Bert Anthony and Dora Delilah (Herren) Anthony.

Roy completed the 6th grade in Kansas. He and his siblings worked in their father's logging/sawmill business in Kansas and Arkansas.

In the mid-50s, Roy joined his eldest brother, Lawrence Anthony, and their cousin, Ernest Shipman, in relocating from Arkansas to Pasadena, California. There, Roy and other family members became involved in Herbert W. Armstrong's Worldwide Church of God, which served as Roy's spiritual compass throughout his life.

Roy was very close to his younger brother, David Anthony. They spent most of their lives together. While in California, Roy worked as a longshoreman dismantling ships. In the mid-60s, Roy married Eunice Pauleen Wolfenbarger in Grand Junction, Colorado. They lived in different locations, mostly in California and Washington. Roy and Eunice had four children: Sonja, Lovell, Michael, and Rebecca. In the early 70s, Roy and Eunice lived in Aberdeen, Washington, later moving in the 80's to Shelton. They divorced in 1988. During the 70s and 80s, Roy and David worked at gyppo logging on the Olympic Peninsula.

Roy enjoyed rockhounding and shared a claim in Arizona with David, where they prospected for gold. He also enjoyed living on the Anthony Family property in Shelton, his home, since 1982. His nephew, Tracy Stephens, was his devoted caregiver for the year prior to Roy entering the Shelton nursing facility. Tracy's help enabled Roy to stay longer on the land that he loved.

Roy is survived by sons, Lovell Nathan and Michael Lee Anthony, and daughter, Rebecca Jean (Anthony) McCormack; and sisters, Lois Marie Anthony and Betty Jane Anthony. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Delbert Ray Anthony, Lawrence Lee Anthony, David Eugene Anthony and Calvin Dwyane Anthony; sisters, Delores Ann Stephens and Pearl Mae McCord; paternal grandparents, Joseph Bert "J.B." Anthony and Mary Alice Green; and maternal

grandparents, Ora David Herren and Lucy Bell Altman.
