Janet K. Kimball, age 77, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI. Janet was born in Denver, CO, on May 29, 1948, to the late Eugene and Lorraine (Smith) Richardson. She was married to Charles Kimball on July 7, 1973; he survives.

Janet graduated from Central High School in Davenport, IA. Following high school, she attended the Moline Public Hospital School for Nurses where she received her bachelor's degree in nursing. Janet began her nursing career at Davenport Osteopathic Hospital in Iowa then went to work as a nurse for Ametek, Inc., in East Moline, IL. Her career brought her to various companies and hospitals in the Midwest which included Service Rubber Company, Inc., Franciscan Medical Center, and Augustana College. In 1984, she moved to Wausau and began employment at Visiting Nurse Association providing health care for homebound patients. Janet then went to Crawford Rehabilitation. She later opened Kimball Rehabilitation Services, Inc., where she was a nurse case manager, retiring in 2000. After retirement, she moved to the Tomahawk area to enjoy Northwoods living. Janet was active in her community as a member of the Little Rice Fire Department and was known for her enthusiasm for quilting, a passion she shared with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Charles Kimball, of Tomahawk; her daughters, Amy (Derek) Anderson, of Green Bay, WI, and Leigh (Jeremy) Stubb, of Wausau; her brothers, Tom (BJ) Richardson, of Arkansas, Mike (Amy) Richardson, of Kansas City, KS, and Bob (Doris) Richardson, of Virginia Beach, VA; and her sister, Jeanne (Jeff) Cook, of Bettendorf, IA. Janet is further survived by her grandchildren, Charlie, Jackson, and Reagan Stubb, and Tyler, Cooper, and Blake Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Lorraine.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
