Janet H. Klomp, affectionately known as Jan to her dear friends and family, was a beacon of love and kindness whose life was a testament to her unwavering faith and caring spirit. Born on July 6, 1944, in
Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jan entered into the Lord's embrace on a peaceful day in
Kentwood, Michigan December 27 2025. Jan's life was one of service and devotion, not only to her beloved husband, Larry Klomp, but also to her cherished stepchildren, Rodney Klomp and Sheri (Deed) Dyer. She found joy in the laughter and growth of her three special granddaughters, Bethany, Kassidy, and Courtney. Jan's family circle included her sister-in-law, Beth DeKam, and her special niece, Ann Roon, alongside several other nieces and nephews who looked to her as a guiding light. Preceded in death by her parents, Art and Minnie DeKam, her brother, Edward DeKam, and sister-in-law, and brother in law Marilyn and Pete Roon, Jan's legacy of love continues to resonate in the hearts of those she left behind. A lifelong learner, Jan pursued her passion for caregiving by studying nursing at Grand Rapids Community College. Her dedication to helping others led her to a rewarding career at Corewell Health, where she served with compassion and excellence for 45 years. Even in retirement, Jan's desire to make a difference did not wane, as she generously volunteered her time and talents at Michigan Blood, impacting countless lives through her selfless acts. Away from her professional and spiritual endeavors, Jan reveled in the beauty of God's creation. She cherished the times spent camping in Mackinaw City and Sault Ste. Marie, as well as her travels and camping adventures in Shipsheawana, Indiana. Jan will be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted stepmother, a doting grandmother, and a true friend.
