Janet Kay McKenzie

Janet Kay Elson McKenzie, 70, of Wheeling, passed away, Friday, September 12, 2025 at home. She was born March 22, 1955 in Salem, Ohio; the daughter of the late Walter and Marlene Lively Elson. Janet was a hostess with Eat N Park in St. Clairsville, Ohio; an Ohio County Sherriff Corrections Officer for 12 years, worked at US Can in Weirton for 12 years, and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-brother, Jeff Gates. Survivors include her husband, Tom L. McKenzie, Jr.; two sons, Brad Holmes of Moundsville, Shannon (Tammy) Holmes of Wheeling; one step-son, Thomas (Kelly) McKenzie III of Wheeling; one brother, Danny (Marcy) Elson of Bellaire; three grandsons, Clayton, Gavin, and Camden; one granddaughter, Jessica; two great-granddaughters, Brooklyn and Khloe; two brothers-in-law, Donnie McKenzie, Ronnie (Debbie) McKenzie; sister-in-law, Kelly Gates; one niece, and three nephews.
