Janet Milo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A. G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 11, 2026.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet Milo on February 8, 2026.

Born on March 4, 1935, in Stony Point, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Wood and Ruth Slawson Wood.

She leaves behind her children; Ralph Milo Jr. (Priscilla), Michele Callahan (Michael), and Nicole Milo; grandchildren: Jenna Stolarik (Sean) and Nicholas Milo (Carmen); great grandchildren, Charlie Stolarik and Hudson Stolarik; niece, Linda McGuiness and brother in law, Clifford Milo.

In addition to her parents, brother, and sister, Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ralph Milo.

Janet grew up in Stony Point, NY where she met and married the love of her life. They later relocated to Johnstown, NY where they raised their children and enjoyed spending time together as a family, often taking camping trips and yearly excursions to Cape Cod and Florida. She made every holiday special and was a loving and devoted mother.

Once the nest was empty, Janet found a fulfilling career as a special education teacher's aide with HFM BOCES. She was well liked and respected by her students.

In her spare time, she loved playing tennis and pickleball, excelling at both. She also learned to sail and spent a great deal of time on the Great Sacandaga Lake racing Hobie Cats. She was an avid gardener and could often be found outside caring for her yard and flowers, cultivating her garden, and especially picking raspberries which she would share with family, friends, and neighbors. Her raspberry pie was the best!

In retirement, Janet was a snowbird, wintering in Myrtle Beach, where she would spend hours each day walking the beach, collecting sharks teeth and seashells. Other hobbies included making jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and doing water aerobics and yoga at the YMCA.

Her memory lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.

At the request of family, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
