Juan Halog Milo, Jr. was born on March 14, 1948, in Central Tubao, La Union, Philippines, to proud parents Atty. Juan G. Milo and Dolores H. Milo. From humble beginnings, Juan lived a life marked by hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering love for his family.
He began his education in the Philippines, where his strong work ethic and quiet determination took root. His journey led him to Singapore, where fate introduced him to the love of his life, Kew Hewng Wong ("Yoko"). The two became inseparable and were married on April 29, 1975, beginning a beautiful partnership that would span over fifty devoted years.
Together, they returned to the Philippines and raised three sons - Juan III, Joseph, and Jose - who would become his pride and joy. To provide for his growing family, Juan made the difficult decision to work abroad in Saudi Arabia, enduring years apart from his loved ones. His sacrifices during those long contracts were acts of pure love, ensuring that his family would have a better life and brighter future.
In December 1987, Juan and his family took a leap of faith and migrated to the United States, chasing opportunity and hope. He trained as an aircraft mechanic in Virginia, later moving to California after securing a position with United Airlines - a career that would span more than 37 years. Through every chapter, Juan remained steadfast - a provider, a teacher, and a man of quiet strength who led by example.
He made a home for his family in San Leandro, Alameda, and South San Francisco, where his legacy of hard work and unconditional love continues to live on. Those who knew him remember his gentle humor, humble nature, and endless devotion to his wife and sons.
Juan was a man who never sought attention or recognition - only the happiness of his family. He was, and always will be, the heart of the Milo family - a loyal husband, a devoted father, and a living example of love, resilience, and sacrifice.
He is survived by his beloved wife Yoko, his three sons - Juan III and his wife, Trina, and their daughters, Georgia and Savannah; Joseph and his wife, Amanda, and their children, Camellia, Caleb, and Flynn; and Jose - as well as all who were fortunate to have known and loved him. His spirit lives on in the family he built, the values he instilled, and the love he gave so freely
Forever in our hearts - your love and legacy will continue to guide us every day.
