Pat Milo

Pat Milo, 86, of Wadsworth, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 28, 2026, following a short illness.

Born March 17, 1939, in Akron to Joseph and Elizabeth (Johnson) Milo, Pat was a proud 1958 graduate of St. Vincent High School in Akron. He went on to serve his country honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis, carrying the values of duty and dedication with him throughout his life.

On October 20, 1962, he married the love of his life, Helen Marie Belik, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Akron. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, music, and service; a partnership that spanned more than six decades.

Pat devoted 42 years to Akron Standard Mold as a skilled welder, retiring in 2001. In addition to his career, he answered another calling in service to his community as an EMT with the Wadsworth Fire Department for 16 years, offering steady hands and a compassionate heart to those in need.

A faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pat sang joyfully in the choir and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Music was one of the great passions of his life. He performed with the Wadsworth Footlighters, memorably portraying Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, and shared his rich voice for 25 years with the Akron Symphony Chorus as well as with the University of Akron Opera. He also delighted many with his spirited singing telegrams. Whether on stage, in church, or among friends, Pat had a gift for lifting spirits. His quick wit, warm smile, and exuberant personality made every gathering brighter.

In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by daughter, Michelle (Richard) Todd of Massillon; granddaughter, Danielle Todd; son, John (Veronica Lyn) Milo of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jessica, Vincent and Jaclyn Milo; son, Christopher (Mary Beth) Milo of Cleveland; grandchildren, Gabriel Fragasse, Talulah (fiance' Zachary Sluder) Milo, Nicholas Milo, Jacob Miller, Olivia (Matthew) Kovesdy and Juliana Heiman; great grandchildren, Hazel Mae Sluder and Brooks Kovesdy; a great grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Milo; mother, Elizabeth Marks; step-father, Joseph Marks; and granddaughter Victoria Milo (John's daughter).

Friends may join the family on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Auble-Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Rosary service at 7:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 260 Broad St., Wadsworth, with Fr. Joe Robinson as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth, where military rites will be observed.
