Janet "Jan" Osborn

Janet "Jan" Osborn, 82, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Black River Lutheran Church, rural Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Frank Ehling and Reverend Sheila Micheals officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Black River Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Janet Margaret Osborn was born July 14, 1943 at Sleepy Eye, MN daughter of Rudolph and Viola (Brown) Paulson. She was raised and educated in Sleepy Eye.

On October 16, 1965 Jan was united in marriage to Walt Osborn at Albion Lutheran Church at St. James, MN to this union 2 children were born Andrew and Julie. The couple lived in Minneapolis until 1968 when they moved to Thief River Falls, MN. She was employed at Arctic Cat, in the office at Cenex, Hartz where she was the receptionist, and retired as secretary at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN.

Jan enjoyed oil painting, pencil art, traveling, Jigsaw puzzles and an avid reader, most of all she loved and cherished the time spent with family and friends.

Jan is survived by her daughter Julie Osborn of Thief River Falls, MN; grandsons Ryan Osborn and Jacob both of Thief River Falls, MN.

She is preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2019; parents Rudolph and Viola Paulson; son Andy Osborn; and brother Russell Paulson.
