Janet R. Radecki, 93, Howard, died Monday, May 12, 2025, at M. Health Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota with her family at her side.
The daughter of Arthur and Marie (Neumeier) Rotter was born November 4, 1931, in Michigan, the fifth of eight children. The family moved to Wisconsin, where Janet graduated from Oconto Falls High School. She met her sweetheart, Leonard Radecki, at a family wedding in Pulaski. The couple married on February 4, 1956, at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski. They made their home in Green Bay where they welcomed a daughter, Lynn. The family later moved to Howard, where they were members of St. John the Baptist Parish.
Janet worked at Wisconsin Optical Service (WOS) in Green Bay for 50 years, where she was the customer service manager and had, at one time, served as Vice-President of the company. She loved to tell the story of early in her employment at WOS, when she walked the streets of Green Bay making deliveries.
Gifted with what the family would call the 'Rotter sense of humor,' Janet was funny, sassy, and had the family knack for thinking out loud when she probably should have used a filter. She was also very smart and kind, a devoted wife and mother, a good friend, and a generous, faith-filled woman. Lynn's friends were her friends, and were always welcomed into her home and her life. Janet's nieces and nephews also enjoyed spending time at the Radecki home, where they were sure to endure some friendly teasing and, also, an abundance of fun, sweet treats, and love.
Janet also inherited her mother's love of traveling anywhere and anytime. There were trips to Vegas with Leonard, lots of visits to Minnesota to spend time with Lynn, and visits to many different states with family and friends. Sunday afternoons almost always involved a road trip to visit one or more of her siblings, which included a stop for pie or to have a cup of coffee and 'split a donut.'
On October 22, 2023, Leonard passed away quite unexpectedly and Janet's world was turned upside down. She accompanied Lynn to her home in Minnesota, where she enjoyed the rest of her days, with an occasional visit back to her home in Howard. The two of them spent precious time together, always enjoying each other's company and sometimes driving each other nuts. It was a time that was beyond price.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Lynn; her grand-dog, Tori; brothers-in law: Mike (Linda) Marnocha, Pulaski and Dr. John (Jean) Marnocha, Green Bay, and sisters-in-law, Janice Rotter, Green Bay, and Sue Radecki, Santa Fe, NM. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, neighbors, and friends.
In addition to her husband, Leonard, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her five sisters: Lois Depner, Shirley (Bob) Davis, Joyce Murphy, Gretchen Marnocha, and Barbara Marnocha, and her two brothers: Bob (Marilyn) Rotter and Tom Rotter; and Leonard's family: Art (Ann), Richard, and Chester Radecki, Jean (Bob) Schuppe and Lucille (Bob) LeMense.
Friends are invited to gather with the family at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday. **Please note that there are no services for Janet scheduled on Monday. The visitation continues Tuesday, May 20th, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church with her nephew, Abbott Dane Radecki, O.Praem. presiding. Burial will take place in Assumption B.V.M. Cemetery in Pulaski.
Lynn would like to especially thank cousins Patti Ann and Pam, and friends Debbie ("Janet's favorite daughter"), Brad, Teri, and Judy and her loving family for all their love and support.
