Janet Reinking

1941 - 2026

Janet M. Reinking, aged 84, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Big Rapids, passed away on January 18, 2026, at Green Acres Assisted Living. Born on April 8, 1941, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marion (Bork) Schubert. Janet was welcomed into the family by her elder sister, Jane. She graduated from Oshkosh High School and pursued a career in healthcare, completing her training as an x-ray technician in Oshkosh. In 1969, she moved to Big Rapids, Michigan, to work at Mecosta County General Hospital and later advanced her skills by becoming an ultrasound technician in the mid-1980s. Janet retired in 1991 but continued to contribute to the medical field by working at Cadillac Hospital, now known as Munson Healthcare, for an additional four years. In 2024, she relocated to Mt. Pleasant. Janet was a vibrant and talented individual who enjoyed walking, knitting, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and gardening. She was known for her artistic abilities and cherished her friendships deeply. Janet is survived by three children, JoAnn (Art) Radtke of Winder, GA, Anthony "Tony" Pirozzoli of Round Lake, IL, and Scott (Carolyn) Reinking of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren, Niklas Radtke and Hannah (Tyler) Hamrick, Teagan Pirozzoli, and Stone Reinking and Madison Reinking; her sister, Jane (Bob) Cottrell; niece and nephew, Connie Cottrell and Steve Cottrell; and special friend, Bill Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue Coalition in Big Rapids.
