Ms. Janet Kay Rohn, age 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Winter Village in Frankenmuth, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family.
Janet was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on October 22, 1957, the oldest child of Raymond & Katherine (Kappel) Rohn. She was raised in Millington alongside her siblings Barb, Mikel, Don, and Teresa and graduated from Millington High School with the Class of 1975. In her working years, Janet worked for Zehnder’s and then entered the telecommunications industry and held positions with Michigan Bell Telephone, AT&T, and retired from Ameritech. Janet enjoyed traveling, shopping, trips to the casino, dining out with family, and watching the Detroit Tigers. She also enjoyed attending her nieces’ and nephews’ softball/baseball games and dance recitals. Janet had a deep affection for animals, especially her cocker spaniel dogs whom she rescued. Above all, Janet loved her family and the time that she spent with them. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Janet is survived by her siblings: Barb Tereau, Mikel (Kara) Rohn, Don (fiancée, Paula Murdock) Rohn, and Teresa (John) Malace; nieces, Holly Malace, Macey Rohn, and Ava Rohn; nephew, Chase Rohn; great-nephew, Leo Malace; as well as several aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond & Katherine Rohn, and several other family members.
Janet’s family will welcome visitors to Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington from 3 – 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Funeral services for Janet will follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025; additional visitation will begin at 12 p.m. and last until the time of service. Afterward, Janet will be laid to rest in Newton-Compau Cemetery next to her parents.
