Janet L. Shaffer, age 98, of Lawrence Park, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025. She was born in Rockton, PA on November 15, 1926, daughter of the late Thomas and Derma Bailey Kirk.

Janet was employed as a custodian at the Iroquois High School until her retirement in 1986. She was very active and had a deep love for her church, Lawrence Park United Methodist Church since her membership in 1953. Janet enjoyed sewing, knitting, doing word search puzzles and loved to read. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.

Janet is survived by one daughter, Nancy Campbell (Shaun) of Erie; two sons, Brad Shaffer (Cathy) of Erie and Eric Shaffer (Alicea) of Bluffton, SC; one sister, Phyllis Shaffer of Selinsgrove, PA; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Shaffer; one daughter, Sally Shaffer; one son, Val Shaffer; and one brother, Norman Kirk.

Friends may call at the Lawrence Park United Methodist Church, 4015 Niagara Place, on Saturday, September 27th, from 2 pm until the time of the Funeral Service there at 4 pm, conducted by Rev. Karen Trask. A private interment will be held at Morningside Cemetery, in DuBois, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Park United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 4015 Niagara Place, Erie, PA 16511 or the American Heart Association, PO Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Condolences may be sent to www.dusckasfuneralhomes.com.
