Janet Marie Spotts, 88, of New Bloomfield, entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.
Born on August 11, 1936, in Duncannon, Janet was a daughter to the late Orville H. Mutzabaugh and Minnie E. (Welch) Mutzabaugh.
Janet faithfully attended and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in New Bloomfield. She was a member of the Central Perry Community Senior Center as well as the New Bloomfield Fire Company Auxiliary.
Janet had such a big heart and supported many organizations; however, she devoted countless hours to support her church, the New Bloomfield Fire Company, and the Senior Center through activities from making soups, baking cakes, and making Peanut Butter eggs. Janet, affectionally known as 'Aggie" or "Jane" to her family, would help anyone in need. In her spare time, Janet loved playing cards with family and friends, baking, making fudge, and in earlier years, bowling and traveling with her beloved husband, Harold, and other family members.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Arlene Kretzing and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kelvin and Evelyn Spotts, several nieces and nephews, and her dog, Buddy. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold L. Spotts; brother, Melvin Mutzabaugh; and sisters, Thelma Mutzabaugh, Alberta Peterman, and Alma Smith.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Friday, March 28, 2025, with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dennis Probst officiating.
Burial will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ Lutheran Church, and or the Central Perry Community Senior Center.
