She was always talking about her grandchildren and great grandchildren; sharing pictures and videos every chance she had. Janet made a point to keep in close contact with many of her nieces and nephews, over the years. Janet, along with her husband Donnie had a craft business for many years. They enjoyed creating items to sell and setting up at craft shows, all around Iowa. In addition, Janet and Donnie enjoyed many camping trips with friends and family. She was known for not only keeping her camper immaculate but also the grass outside. One of her great loves was gardening. She always had the most beautiful flower gardens around her home. Janet made a career change in her 40's and went back to college to attain her CMA. She was so very proud of her accomplishment and entered her new career with excitement and dedication. She spent many years working for doctors that also became family to her. She took great pride in working for Dr. Scott Hamling; attending to all the cancer patients who came to the clinic. And for her last few years working part-time she worked at John Stoddard Cancer Center, at Unity Point Methodist Hospital. Being a 2 time cancer survivor herself, Janet went above and beyond with each patient to make them feel they were getting the very best care on their cancer fighting journey. She understood her calling in life and embraced it with passion. Memorials, in memory of Janet, may be given to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
