Janet Mary Templeton

Janet Mary (Weyrick) Templeton, 86, of formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on December 20, 2023, She was born March 26, 1937 in Fort Wayne, IN where she grew up and attended Elmhurst High School. After attending North Central College in Naperville, IL, she taught third grade for 3 years. She married Ernest (Mel) Templeton on August 31, 1968. Janet was a homemaker and taught sewing/quilting for District 214 Adult Education. She was a second mother to many of the neighborhood children and was active in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts', as well as activities at the First UMC of Arlington Heights. She enjoyed gardening as a hobby.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruby Weyrick. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ernest, and her children, Stuart Templeton (Grueti Laager, TN), Jill (Gregg) Murphy (Gilman, IL), Hallie (Dan) Paar (Dubuque, IA), Emily Templeton (Nashville, TN), and Ross (Tracy) Templeton (Palatine, IL), and adoptive daughter, Leann (Al) Young (Celebration, FL). She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Danelle, Amy, Nathaniel, Noah, Samantha, Jacy, and Grant and her great-grandchildren, Macie, Leah, Nolan, and Aria. Janet is also survived by her siblings, Nancy (Richard) Grote, Marge (the late David Ebanks) Weyrick, and Roger Weyrick. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on January 14, 2024. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM with the service to follow at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights,1903 Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights, IL, 60004. The inurnment of Janet's ashes in the Resurrection Garden will follow the service (weather permitting). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Janet's honor to the First
