Janet E. Terrier

Janet E. Terrier, 87, of Verona, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Oneida Health. She was born in Marcy on July 16, ,1937, a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Davis) Cushman. She was a 1957 graduate of Holland Patent High School and Madison-Oneida Boces for Floral Design.

Janet was private home health aide for many years. She enjoyed crafting and her animals, Skippy and Jax. She always looked forward to playing Scrabble or a dice game with her sisters, Dottie and Marilyn and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Robert Taylor, Darryl Terrier (Kari) and Tricia Kegebein-Colmey (Michael); two sisters, Marilyn Bortiatynski and Dorothy Tyler; nine grandchildren, Shannon Weaver (Jeff), Samantha Kegebein (Matthew), Kyle Kegebein, Colten Terrier (Sierra), Andrew Prior, Ashleigh and Ryan Shannon, and Ryan and Jacob Huey; five great-grandchildren, Greyson, Olivia, Ryker, Joseph and Leila; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Charlotte Hammond; three brothers, James, Charles, and Russell Cushman; and a granddaughter, Deanna Ingalls.

Janet's family would like to thank Dr. James Vanderhoof of Oneida Health for his compassion; Brianna of the Oneida Health Emergency Department for her extreme kindness and care in mom's time of need; and the nurses on the 4th Floor of Oneida Health, especially nurse Kelly.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, March 3rd from 4-7:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, with a service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the spring in Townsend Cemetery in Stittville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janet's memory may be made to the Humane Society of Rome, 6247 Lamphear Rd., Rome NY 13440.
