Age 69, passed away Fri. June 17, 2022 at Robert packer Hospital following an illness. Born on May 13, 1953 in Elmira daughter of the late, Lee R. & Sophie Korlinchak Peters. She was a

1971 graduate of Southside High School. A diligent worker and provider, Janet was employed by Vasco Brands in clerical, was a teacher's aide for the Elmira City School District, an office manager for David M. Tuma Construction Inc., but most of all was a loving and caring homemaker for her family. She loved the outdoors, times spent at "The Pond", enjoyed driving and sight-seeing, and time spent with her family. Surviving is her loving husband, Rana Tahir Naqash, Pine City; children, Carrie (Markedis) Williams, Elmira; David Jr. (Tiffany Bennett) Tuma, Southport; Christopher (Emily) Tuma, Southport; along with their father, David Tuma Sr. Elmira; sister, Sharon (Jim) Emmick, Big Flats; brothers, Ronald (Vivian) Peters, Big Flats; Michael (Stephanie) Peters, FL; brother-in-law, Jeff Jack, Pine City; a foster son, Karl Lewis, NC; many grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her son Lee Tuma in 2006 and a sister, Jane Jack in 2021. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway St. Southport/Elmira on Thur. June 23, 2022 between the hours of 9 a.m. – 12(noon) Funeral services will follow at 12:15 p.m. with burial in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery where she will rest beside her beloved son, Lee Tuma. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
