Shane Albert Tuma was born on June 26, 1961, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Idaho Falls to Emil Albert Tuma and Carol Lee Lockyer. He spent most of his childhood in Hamer, Idaho, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors.
On February 21, 1987, Shane married Lori Ann White. Though they later divorced, together they shared many memories and built a family that was always at the center of Shane’s heart.
Shane had a deep love for nature, especially fishing on the Snake River—even though he wasn’t fond of eating fish. He enjoyed working on cars, tinkering with RC cars and drones, gardening, and simply being outside. Known for his playful teasing and sense of humor, Shane brought laughter to those around him.
He had a generous spirit and was always ready to lend a helping hand. A hardworking man, Shane took pride in making sure the job got done right. Above all, he was a dedicated provider and a loving father and grandfather.
Shane is survived by his four children: Joseph (Amber) of Idaho Falls, Marcie (Walter) of Idaho Falls, Tasha (Frank) of Shelley, and Sheldon of Firth. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Malakhi, Jason, Malaysia, Montana, Timberly, Malani, and Pandora.
He is also survived by his two sisters, Lauralee (Keith) of Shelley and Lisa of Basalt, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shane was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Carol.
He will be remembered for his big heart, his love of life, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
