Janet Mae Vassello, a beacon of love and courage, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 89 in Titusville, Florida. Born on April 17, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, Janet's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family.

Janet grew up in Valley Stream, on Long Island, where she learned the values of togetherness and love. That had a lasting impact on her when she eventually started her own family. Her passion for cooking and baking became the centerpiece of holiday gatherings, with her kitchen often filled with the aroma of her delicious creations. She believed that the heart of her home was at the dining table, where stories were shared, and memories were made.

Her love story with Ronald Vassello was one for the ages, spanning 65 beautiful years until his passing in 2022. Together, they built a life rich in laughter and love of traveling. The loss of her beloved husband was a sorrow she bore with grace, as she had with the passing of her daughter Lori Lorenz in 2015.

Janet's legacy is carried on by her loving daughters, Cindy White and Trisha Rollins (Michael), who will forever cherish the lessons of kindness and resilience their mother instilled in them. Her grandchildren, Ronnie (Danielle), Brian (Chelsea), Matthew, Kristin, and Owen, will remember her as the grandmother who celebrated their achievements and comforted them in times of need. Her great-granddaughters, Emma and Allie, will grow up knowing the great woman who helped shape the family's foundation.

An avid bowler, Janet's competitive spirit and camaraderie were on full display in the bowling alley she frequented. She enthusiastically played the sport until the onset of Covid in 2020. Her green thumb was evident in the vibrant garden she meticulously cared for, a visible manifestation of her nurturing soul.

Janet's life was a portrait of courage, facing life's challenges with a steadfast heart. She was the embodiment of love, always putting her family first and ensuring that they knew they were loved unconditionally. Her presence was a comforting constant, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

As we bid farewell to Janet Mae Vassello, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will continue to bloom in the hearts of her family and friends. Her spirit, characterized by warmth and bravery, will forever be a guiding light for those she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Janet, your story is one of a life well-lived, and your memory will be treasured always.
