A Celebration of Life for Janet Vanderhye Willey, 91, will be held on November 21 from 10:00am to 12:00pm, with a memorial service beginning at 12:00pm at Michaels Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, Illinois.
Born, June 3, 1934, in Chicago, to Henry and Esther Pearson, she peacefully passed away on November, 3, 2025 in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
Janet grew up in Worth, Illinois. She excelled in academics, from a young age, graduated from Blue Island High School, 1952, as the class Co-Valedictorian. After completing secretarial school, she had a career as a Legal Secretary. She was a highly regarded Legal Secretary at Vedder Price Kauffman and Kamholz for 31 years.
Janet is survived by her children, Robert and Janet, six grandchildren Nick, Thomas, Kerry, Perry, Quinn, and Emma, six great grandchildren, Tommy, Sammy, Joshua, Blake, Lukas, and Tyler. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, sister Helen, dear husband Gilbert of 27 years, and son Thomas.
Janet truly loved her many pets over the years. She was a voracious reader, movie enthusiast, and the loving hostess of many family dinners. She will be so sorely missed by her many family members.
