Wilson, Janet G. (nee Gaiser) (May 21, 2024). Beloved wife of Paul B. Wilson. Loving mother to Diane M. Wilson, Eric J. (Monica) Wilson, Keith A. (Rebecca) Wilson, and the late Adam M. Wilson. She will also be missed by her granddaughter Caitlin Quinn Wilson.
Janet was the daughter of John and Neretta Gaiser (LeGower). She attended Gwynedd Mercy Academy Elementary School and High School. After high school, Janet married the boy across the street, Paul Wilson. They would have celebrated sixty years of marriage this September.
The proud mother of four children, Diane, Eric, Keith, and Adam, Janet was a tireless supporter of all her children's interests and activities. From marching band to swim meets, and karate competitions, Janet was always there to cheer on and support her children. She was devoted to them and delighted in their accomplishments. Janet and her family were devastated by the loss of their youngest child Adam to leukemia in 2000. She and her family began a scholarship fund in Adam's memory to benefit students at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School. Janet was tireless in her dedication to this endeavor to honor her son's memory and share his legacy with others.
Janet worked for Prudential Insurance in Fort Washington for many years. Her favorite jobs; however, involved working with children. Janet retired in 2012 from the Upper Dublin School District where she worked with special needs students. Janet's compassion shaped her interactions with the many students whose lives she touched. She was a strong advocate for them, and she was a respected colleague. After her retirement, Janet's new favorite roll was as grandmom to Caitlin.
Janet's natural friendliness and genuine interest in people could be seen in her hospitality. She welcomed everyone into her home, and she loved hosting friends and family at the holidays. Janet loved to bake, and she was most at home in the kitchen preparing delicious treats. Her gracious hosting made even simple events seem more special. In recent years, she enjoyed sharing her love of cooking and baking with her granddaughter Caitlin creating happy memories of time spent together.
Janet loved to craft, particularly scrapbooking. Preserving memories with her family was important to her. Janet took great joy in selecting pictures and themes to showcase a photo. Known for an excellent and playful sense of humor, Janet was a faithful friend to all throughout her life.
A near lifelong resident of Flourtown; Janet loved the area and the proximity to her family. She was a longtime parishioner at Saint Genevieve Parrish is Flourtown. Relatives and friends are invited to Janet's visitation Wednesday 5/29, 9 to 10am at St. Genevieve RC Church Flourtown. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am. Interment George Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions in Janet's name may be made to Adam M. Wilson Memorial Fund C/O TD Bank, 1240 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031.
