Janet Lois Wojnowski (née Martens) came into the world on the first day of spring in 1932 in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was born into eternal life on All Souls Day November 2, 2025, in Greenfield, Wisconsin. She leaves behind a legacy as bold and vibrant as her beloved Green Bay Packers green and gold.
Janet was the cheerleader of life, quite literally. As a varsity cheerleader at Pulaski High School, her spirit never waned and she carried that same enthusiasm into all aspects of her life, including her career at First Wisconsin Bank where she advanced from teller to a high performing loan officer.
Janet met her late husband Kenneth Wojnowski while she was in high school. Together, they built a family that included Paul (Stefanie Cristan), Sandra (Gary), Neal (Corina) and Jodi (John). Proud grandma to Tony Wojnowski, Grey Haas (Stephanie Gonzalez), Callie Haas, Ava and Jack Wojnowski and Riley Fenton.
Preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Clara Martens and brother, Ralph Martens.
Janet's Catholic faith was steadfast, serving as a Eucharistic minister, lector and administrative assistant at St. Matthias for many years. Her generosity, kindness and love were evidence of her deep faith.
While Janet's undying loyalty to the Green Bay Packers was legendary, she was also passionate about traveling the world and playing bingo and slots.
Janet's life was a joyous celebration that left us all with a smile in our hearts. As we celebrate a life well lived, we don't say good bye but until we meet again. We love you and will do our best to continue this wonderful legacy.
A special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff at Lexington Heritage and Brighton Hospice Care.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at ST. MATTHIAS PARISH, 9306 W. Beloit Rd., Milwaukee. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Private Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
