Janet Woolwine Obituary

Janet Bell Woolwine 72, of Mount Airy, MD passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025 at MedStar Washington Health Center with her husband and daughter by her side.

Born on January 7, 1953 in Olney, MD to Estelle Waters Bell and Garrison Warfield Bell Sr. of Washington Grove, MD. She graduated from Towson University to become a second generation teacher. Janet taught at Montgomery County Public Schools for 40 years. Primarily teaching 1st grade. Sometimes teaching up to three generations from the same family and a number of her students grew up to be school teachers themselves.

In her free time Janet loved spending time with her grandsons, catching up with friends and family on Facebook, and spending as much time as she could in Ocean City, MD.

Janet was survived by her Husband Roy, Daughter Katie (Chris), Sister Marian, Brother Garry (Beth), and Brother in law John. She also was survived by her 3 grandsons (Nick, Daniel, and Patrick) and 26 cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition many teaching colleagues and students that she loved like family.

A celebration of life will take place on June 18, 2025 with a visitation from 6-8pm and a memorial on June 19 2025 at 11am welcoming all who wish to attend at Molesworth Funeral Home.
