Janette Christiansen (nee Guthrie) passed away after a brief illness on Sunday August 10th at Hospice of Dayton.

She was born December 13, 1929 in Harvey, IL to John and Janette Guthrie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, sister and brother-in-law, brother and sister-in-law, and one nephew and three nieces.

After living in Chicago, and Corning NY, she became a long time resident of Madeira until she moved to One Lincoln Park in Kettering in September of 2022. She was living independently until the beginning of June, and she remained sharp until the end. She was an active volunteer over the years. This included Women's Club, Children's Hospital, Scouting program, and holding multiple positions at the churches in Corning and Madeira.

Janette is survived by her son Ken (Cindy), daughters Nancy and Carol (Doug),grandchildren Cory, Michelle (Nate), Emily (Michael), Megan (Thomas),Leah and John (Pui Yii), great grandchildren, who called her GG, Harlee, Annika, Aaron, Ellie, Charlotte, Monroe, Ava and Solei. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, six nieces and 4 nephews and many grand and great grand nephews and nieces.

She had a full and happy life.

Janette's family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 19th from 11:30AM until the time of the memorial service, 12Noon at Madeira-Silverwood Presbyterian Church, 8000 Miami Ave. (45243) Madeira.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Cancer Society (cancer.org), Hospice of Dayton (hospiceofdayton.org), Madeira-Silverwood Church (onrealm.org/MSPC/-/form/give/now), or charity of your choice.
