Janice Bacchi Obituary

Janice K. Bacchi passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. She was seventy-one years old. Janice was the daughter of the late A. Edward Bacchi and Marie (Swinchock) Bacchi. She was a life-long parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter, Janine Bacchi, her loving son-in-law, Matthew Hood, and her treasured grandchildren, Lee, Jaina, and Joelle. She also leaves behind her sister Lynn Socoloski, brother Blake Bacchi, sister-in-law Laurie Bacchi, brother-in-law Jeff Marterella, along with many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Laureen Marterella, and brother-in-law Paul Socoloski.

Janice graduated from Bishop Conwell in 1971 and immediately began what was intended to be a summer position at First Federal of Bucks County, now known as Penn Community Bank. That summer paved the way to a career lasting more than five decades. Many of her colleagues became close friends, and her work brought her much happiness and pride. She had hoped to celebrate her next milestone, 55 years of service in 2026, and then retire.

Janice was deeply devoted to her family. She encouraged and proudly supported Janine in all of her activities as a child. As Janine grew older, they enjoyed annual mother-daughter vacations together. She never hesitated to accompany her daughter anywhere. Their time spent together, and eventually with Matt, with whom she also had a strong and special bond, was greatly cherished. She continued her involvement with her grandchildren, regularly attending school events, dance recitals, soccer and baseball games, no matter how near or far. Her grandchildren will miss their traditions of building difficult jigsaw puzzles together, baking Mommy's birthday cake with her each year, and helping her decorate for holidays.

Known for always having her camera ready and carefully preserving family memories, Janice also had a lifelong love for reading, and was a talented seamstress quick to help with a sewing project. She had a knack for striking up a conversation and very much enjoyed connecting with others through their stories while sharing her own. Her warm smile and welcoming disposition will be missed by everyone who held her dear.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA, followed by the Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Bucks County, 413 Hood Boulevard, Fairless Hills, PA 19030 or Susan G. Komen Foundation, 13770 Noel Rd., Suite 801889, Dallas TX 75380.
