It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janice L. Bailey. Funeral services for Mrs. Janice Bailey, 69, of Glencoe, will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Garry Ragsdale officiating the service. Burial will follow the service at West Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
Janice passed away at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loved ones, as she took her last breath on earth and entered the gates of heaven.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by her husband, James Bailey; her brother, Danny Shinholser; her children, Jamie Anthony (Adelyn) and Shannon Finley (Keith); her stepchildren, Jennifer Bailey and Stephen Bailey (Allison); several precious grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and special friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Hazel Shinholser, and her stepson, Kenny Bailey.
Janice was a caring wife, mother, and Nana. Her smile lit up every room she entered. Those who visited her home knew of her love for Lifetime and Hallmark movies, which she enjoyed by the fire year-round.
She worked at RTJ Silver Lakes Golf Course, where she continued to work until the day before her diagnosis. There, she cherished the friendships she formed and loved sharing stories about her children and grandchildren. The relationships she built were truly special to her. Janice was saved and baptized at Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a proud graduate of Alexandria High School.
We extend a special thank you to Brianna Wade and Misty Wells of Anniston Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, as well as Phyllis Vice, for the love and care they provided. Your comfort and support will never be forgotten.
