Janice Gale Barisano

Janice G. Barisano (Whitehead), 71, of North Billerica MA., formerly of Marshfield, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Newton, MA on May 8th, 1954, Janice was the loving daughter of Donald D. Whitehead of Maine and Henny Skillings of Norway.
Growing up in Newton, MA. Janice was always drawn to the ocean and sea and in later years, as an avid sea lover, she and her husband shared this love with their children. As a loving mother and a beloved wife to her husband John Barisano, Sr. of 40 years before his death. For many years, Janice prioritized the needs of others and the well-being of her family without exception while working as a Substance Abuse Counselor and later becoming a House Director of The Granada House in Allston, where she influenced the lives of many in their battle with sobriety.
Predeceased by her beloved husband John Barisano, Sr. and her dear siblings, Steven Whitehead of upstate NY and Donna Casa of Idaho,
Janice is survived by her loving and devoted children, a son, John Barisano, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Woburn MA. Her daughter Stacy Higgins and her husband Dave of Billerica, MA. In addition, her adored grandchildren, Gina Pansire, Matthew and Brooklyn Barisano, and Lauren and Samatha Sumner. Her brother Paul Whitehead of Tennessee, other relatives and dear friends.
Friends and relatives are invited to gather and remember the love Janice shared during visiting hours on Tuesday, May 20th from 4 PM - 6 PM in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels located, 773 Moody Street Waltham, MA. Parking attendants will be on duty.
A Memorial Service, in celebration of Janice's life will begin at 6PM.
