Janice April Boyce, born on April 28, 1949, in Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a beloved figure to many and her legacy will be fondly remembered.
Janice was a proud graduate of Center Grove High School, class of 1967. Her passion for music led her to Campbellsville College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music. This love for music continued to flourish as she attended The Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and she was honored to sing with the esteemed Louisville Opera Company.
Throughout her life, Janice cherished the joy that music brought into her world. She would often share this passion with those around her, inspiring others to appreciate the beauty and power of song.
Janice is survived by her brother, Robert "Bob" Gates, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who held her dear. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Rena Gates, her brother Albert Gates, and her half-sisters Wilma Merry and Peggy Carnes.
As we bid farewell to Janice, we remember her vibrant spirit, her dedication to music, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
