Janice Elizabeth Chatham, 84, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Pruitthealth of Greenville.
Ms. Chatham was born on August 8, 1941 in Atlanta, the daughter of George Lee Moon, Jr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Reid Dockery. She was raised and grew up in Douglasville, GA before her family moved to Greenville in 1976. She held a long work history in Greenville, working at the Greenville Banking Company for fifteen years. After retiring from the bank, she served as the Chief Clerk of Superior Court of Meriwther county for twenty-eight years. She loved the work and the people she worked with. In her spare time she enjoyed watching television, especially "Walker, Texas Ranger" and old Western films. She also enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Christmas was her favorite holiday, a time she loved to spend with family. Her family was always the most important thing to her. The countless memories created over her lifetime held a special place in her heart. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert Paul Harper.
She is survived by her children, Lori Dockery and Seana McArthur both of Greenville, and Barry Harper, Sr. and family, grandchildren, Paul McArthur and family of Phenix City, AL, Barry Harper, Jr. and family and Cody Harper and family, and April Nicole Harper and family of Franklin, GA; great-grandchild, Connor Douglas McArthur; beloved feline companion, Nosy; and a host of other extended family and friends.
The family will hold a private memorial service.
