Janice Cole Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 5, 2025.
Janice Marie Cole, aged 80, of Delaware, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at Delaware Court following a recent decline in health.
She was born on January 25, 1945, at Doctors North Hospital in Columbus to the late John A. and Zelma (Helwagen) Lane.
As a life-long farmer, Janice's life was centered around her passion, farm life. However, that did not stop her from having additional work on the side, she also worked as a bank teller with Ohio National Bank. After working for the Ohio National Bank, Janice went on to work as a cook at the Delaware Area Career Center.
Along with her husband, she was a fan of NASCAR and attending tractor pull events. She favored farm life, growing crops, and tending to the livestock.
She was so proud of all of the work that she had put into the farm during her life, but her true pride and joy were her children and grandchildren.
Janice was a tough, generous, outgoing, and wonderful person. She will be forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, Jacob E. Cole, in 2019.
She is survived by son, Loren Wright (Tracy Presley) of Gates, NC; grandchildren, Joshua and Garrett Wright; 2 great-grandchildren; stepson, Shawn (Amy) Cole of Kilbourne; step-grandchildren, Alayna and Emilie Cole, Tristan Moore, and Erica, Nathan, and Alyssa Thurston; brother, John "Jack" Lane Jr. of Delaware; sister-in-law, Clara Cole; mother of Joshua and Garrett, Tressa Wright; and dear friends Amber and Malary Perkins.
Services will be observed privately by her family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Delaware County, 4920 St. Rt. 37 E, Delaware, OH 43015.
The family would also like to extend their thanks for the tender care and compassion provided by Delaware Court and Compassus Hospice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder Funeral Center in Delaware.
