Janice Lori Diana (ne Turan) 68, of Patchogue, New York, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 18, 1955 in The Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of Harriette Turan (ne Denis) and the late Daniel Turan.Janice was a graduate of Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School and went on to pursue her passion for art by studying Art Education at Dowling College, where she earned her Masters Degree. She dedicated more than 30 years of her life to teaching art at Center Moriches UFSD, where she inspired and shaped the lives of countless students through her passion for both education and creativity.A passionate community servant, Janice was an active member of the Rotary movement. She was a charter member of the Passport Rotary Club of District 7255 and served on the board of directors for Camp Pa Qua Tuck. Her devotion to youth and service earned her the esteemed Paul Harris Fellow Recognition Award for outstanding contributions to her community. Janice also played a vital role in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, where she helped build connections and opportunities for young people worldwide.An artist at heart, Janice expressed her creativity in many forms, from drawing and painting to stained glass, pottery, and pastels. Gardening was also a beloved pastime, and her home was always filled with the beauty of nature and art. A true animal lover, Janices compassion extended to all creatures, and her home was never without a beloved pet or rescued reptile.Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Diana; her father, Daniel Turan; and her granddaughter, Danae Francisquini. She is survived by her daughters, Heather Diana and Dawn Francisquini; son-in-law, Jeffrey Francisquini; grandchildren, Darien and Jiada Francisquini; mother, Harriette Turan; brothers, Richard (Madeline) Turan and Jack (Nina) Turan; as well as her constant cockatoo companion Max and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and lifelong friends who became family.Janice was the embodiment of what it means to live life authentically. She had an unwavering passion for service, a generous heart, and a deep commitment to her family and community. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and dedication will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, forever cherished by those whose lives she touched.
