Janice Doxtator peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Bellin Hospital.
Born to the late Mildred (Gardner) Doxtator and Edward Eli Doxtator on March 15, 1947. Janice grew up in Bowler, WI and lived most of her adult life in Green Bay, WI. She married Finley Peters Jr. and had three children with him.
Janice enjoyed eating out with family, playing games, wrestling, the Packers, rummage sales and thrift shops.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Edward Doxtator; brothers, James and Delvin; sisters: Joyce, Delores, Angeline, Noreata and Alphidine; as well as two brothers and six sisters unknown to us; two daughters, Michelle Peters and Wanda Heidemann; two granddaughters, Jessica and Amber; her ex-husband, Finley Peters Jr.; special niece, Georgetta "Sam" Doxtator and sister-in-law, Theresa Reed.
She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Doxtator of Oneida and Debra Vega of Green Bay; one son, Sheridean Peters of Redgranite; three grandsons: Edward Putnam (special friend, Mark Thomson), Michael Doxtator (special friend, Wayenisliyoste Powless) and Kody Peters (special friend, Miranda Newhouse); one granddaughter, Miley Peters; and four great-grandchildren: Dayson, Ximena, Elianna and Tyohnawahsnole Doxtator; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
A wake will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI) from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Visitation will continue at Restoration Church (731 Morris Ave., Ashwaubenon, WI), Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 10 to 10:30 AM. The Oneida Hymn Singers will be singing from 10:30 to 11AM. Please use this time as an opportunity for silent prayer and reflection. A funeral service will be held at 11AM with a lunch to follow.
