Newcomer Funeral Home - Green BayIrene Patricia Anderson of Clintonville, passed away on August 15th, 2025 at the age of 85. Irene was born in New Hampshire on April 7, 1940, the daughter of Aubrey and Geraldine (Eastman) Gray.
On February 24th, 1962 she was united in marriage to Raymond Earl Anderson whom she met working together at the Converse tennis shoe factory in Berlin, New Hampshire. The couple raised four children: Aubrey, Raymond Jr., Rodney, and Raelene in Lancaster, New Hampshire, before moving to Wisconsin in 1974. Over the years Irene took on a number of jobs including more factory work and skilled caretaking. A woman of warmth, creativity, and quiet strength, Irene will be remembered fondly for her magnificent and elaborate flower gardens, delicious apple pies, the way she could spruce anything up with a set of art paints, and her knack for holding the neighborhood's best rummage sales. Tough yet tender, she was truly a woman of great perseverance. She brought beauty and imagination into every day. Irene loved puzzles, reading, sewing, drawing, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and treasure hunting at the Shawano Flea Market, but most of all she loved her family. In her final days, nothing brought her more joy than seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
During the last six years of her life, Irene was lovingly and devotedly cared for at home by her daughter, Raelene Anderson. Raelene advocated fiercely for her mother, while day in, day out providing her with the best possible quality of life in her final years, a true reflection of the deep bond between mother and daughter.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Geraldine; her mother and father-in-law, Barney and Beatrice Anderson; her grandson, Michael Anderson; her brothers: Frank, Linwood, and Bruce Gray; and her cousin, Bonnie Libby.
She is survived by her four children: Aubrey Anderson, Raymond Anderson Jr., Rodney (Jodi) Anderson, and Raelene Anderson; two granddaughters: Katie (Jaimey) Murray and Amber (Indy Fritz) Anderson; and four great-grandchildren: Emily Pivot-Murray, Ella Fritz, Claire Murray, and Raini Murray; her brother Robert Gray; and sister Muriel Tillson.
