Janice Joan (Schroeder) Finch, 87, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital surrounded by her family.
Janice was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 16, 1938 to the late Alvin and Lydia (Willman) Schroeder. She was a 1956 graduate of F.J. Reitz High School. Janice worked as a bookkeeper and held a variety of jobs throughout her life. She was also co-owner of Grandma's Little Angels, a children's clothing store. Later in life, Janice worked as a bus driver for the EVSC and enjoyed it tremendously. In retirement, Janice volunteered at CASA and the Ronald McDonald House. Janice was a faithful member of Northside Congregational Church for many years, and more recently was a member of City Church. In her free time, Janice enjoyed traveling all over the world and spending time with her friends and family. Above all, Janice deeply loved her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She epitomized what it meant to be a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
Janice is survived by her son, Donald Finch II (LeeAnn); daughter, Amy Bouchie (Bill Morgan); sister, Janet Howell (Scott); grandchildren, Erica Finch, Luke Finch (Kiana), Jesse Bouchie (Annie), and Zachary Bouchie (Megan); great-grandchildren, Kyler Finch, Evelyn Finch, Theo Finch, and Stella Bouchie; and several nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Finch; and sister, Rosalie Julian.
A celebration of Janice's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Jeff Kincaid officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9:00 am until service time on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to City Church, 314 Market St., Evansville, IN 47708 or CASA, 600 SE 6th St., Evansville, IN 47713.
