Alexander Thomas ( Thomas the Train) Hessler, known affectionately as Alex, was a beacon of joy and faith in the lives of all who knew him. Born on May 4, 2011, in Evansville, Indiana, to the proud parents Brian and Lorie Hessler, Alex's journey on this earth was a testament to the power of love, family, and unshakable optimism. His untimely departure on November 16, 2025, in his hometown of Evansville, Indiana, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

Alex's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the love of his family. As the cherished son of Brian and Lorie Hessler, he grew up alongside his siblings Alyson Claxton (Jake), Ayden, Abby, Ava, and Alivia Arrick, who found in him not just a brother, but a true friend. His uncles and aunts, Gregory Hessler (Kelley), Jason Hessler (Marjorie), Angela Morgan (Ed), Rocky Goodson (DJ), Charles Wood Jr., and Paulette Davis (Don), along with his cousins Connor, Abigail, Jacob, Owen, William, and Luke Hessler, will remember Alex for his infectious laughter and the warmth of his presence. He was a beloved grandson, cherished by his grandparents, the late Larry and Billie Hessler, the late Paula Goodson, and Charles L. Wood (Sandra), Webb Hahn, and Julie Kirkwood.

Alex's academic journey was flourishing as he embarked on his high school years at FJ Reitz High School. His passion for sports was evident from an early age. Known as Big AL, he played baseball with heart and talent, first at the German Township Baseball Club, then for the North Posey Youth Club and Reitz Cub Baseball. His athletic spirit also shone through as a member of the North Posey Junior High trap and skeet team and as a dedicated player on the freshman football team at Reitz High School. His teachers and classmates knew him as a great student, one who balanced his love for sports with a commitment to his studies.

A devout Christian, Alex's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was an active member of the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Evansville, IN, and his spiritual journey was enriched by his experiences at the Karl E Kelley Memorial Youth Camp. His baptism in July 2025 at Camp Hogwallow was a profound moment that he cherished deeply. Alex's love for the Jesus was evident in his everyday actions; he lived his faith through his unwavering positivity and his readiness to offer a kind word to anyone in need.

Friends and loved ones will remember Alex as a young man who never seemed to have a bad day. His positive outlook and the love he had for the Lord and his family were sources of inspiration. The halls of Reitz High School will indeed never be the same without Alex's bright spirit walking among them.

As we bid farewell to Alexander Thomas Hessler, we celebrate a life that, though brief, was lived to the fullest and touched countless lives with its light. His legacy of kindness, faith, and love will continue to shine brightly in the memories of all who were blessed to know him. Alex's journey on earth has ended, but his story will be told for generations, a reminder of the difference one life can make.
