Obituary published on Legacy.com by Osborne Funeral Home, PA - Williamsport on Mar. 13, 2026.
Rose Marie Hessler ("Toots"), 88, of Williamsport, MD, going home to be with her Lord on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her home at Twin Oaks Assisted Living.

Born June 21, 1937, in Williamsport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Fred Leroy and Anna Virginia (Wiley) Lowman.

Rose attended Williamsport High School and was known for her competitive spirit at the card table, where she usually won. She cherished her grandchildren and was known to stand in line for hours to collect Beanie Babies for them. She also enjoyed collecting Longaberger baskets, Cabbage Patch dolls, Elvis memorabilia, Gone with the Wind collectibles, and many other treasures that caught her eye.

Rose worked as the manager of Turner's Skating Rink on Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown, MD until her retirement in 1980. Following her retirement, she managed properties for Turner Enterprises.

She remained very active throughout her life and especially enjoyed her time at Twin Oaks Assisted Living, where she participated in floral arranging, bingo, pottery, coloring, and musical entertainment.

An enthusiastic Elvis fan, Rose has attended at least 15 Elvis tribute shows in the past five years. In earlier years, she bowled in a league and enjoyed traveling the world, visiting Japan, Canada, Russia, Amsterdam, and much of Europe. She also spent many winters in Miami, FL and Hilton Head, SC. In her 30s, she spent weekends in Bedford, PA, where she enjoyed life on a farm and riding horses.

She is survived by her son, Kevin R. Hessler (Jeannie) of Frederick, MD; Tammy Hessler Spitzer of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren, Gregory Hessler, Meghan Hessler, C. Matthew Spitzer, Zachary Spitzer, Dylan Turner, and Anna Turner; great-grandchildren, Evie Claire, Jude, and Penelope ("Lil' P"); brother Fred Lowman; sister Barbara Burger; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her life partner, Frank Turner; son, Rodney "Scott" Turner; and siblings Patsy Lowman, Ned Lowman, Sue Belle Speaker, Ruth Delauter, and Butch Lowman; son-in-law Chuck Spitzer.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A., 425 S. Conococheague Street, Williamsport, MD, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 12:00 pm (noon) with Pastor Kevin Smoot officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 1710 Underpass Way, Suite 300, Hagerstown, MD 21740, or Twin Oaks Assisted Living, 44 E. Village Lane, Williamsport, MD 21795.
