Kennith Clevinger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Osborne Funeral Home, PA - Williamsport on Mar. 7, 2026.
Kennith E. "Kenny" Clevinger, Jr., 81, of Falling Waters, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Kenny was born on July 27, 1944, in Grundy, Virginia to the late Kennith Edward Clevinger, Sr. and Ellen Bertha (Anderson) Clevinger. He was a graduate from Grundy High School in 1962 and went on to build a life defined by hard work, entrepreneurship, and the things he loved most.

He began his career working for Pepco before branching out on his own and running several businesses over the years, including a Shell gas station, Kenny's Tires, Labor Services, and Cactus Flats. Kenny was someone who wasn't afraid to work hard and build something of his own.

Outside of work, Kenny had a true passion for racing. He raced stock cars himself and was a lifelong NASCAR fan who loved traveling to races in his RV whenever he could. When he wasn't at the track, you could often find him deer hunting, fishing, spending time at Riverbend, or working in his garden. He took great pride in growing vegetables and sharing them with neighbors and friends.

More than anything, Kenny enjoyed being surrounded by the people he loved. Time spent with family and friends meant the most to him.

He was a member of AMVETS Post 38, Redmen Chippewa Tribe 19, and the Knights of Pythias.

Kenny is survived by his children, Kennith E. Clevinger III of Thurmont, MD, and Kimberley A. Clevinger-Thomas of Ankeny, IA; his companion and love, Shirley Hooper of Falling Waters, WV; his brother Sonny Anderson of Accokeek, MD; his granddaughters, Jennifer Droneburg of Thurmont, MD and Makenzie Kline of Walkersville, MD; and his great-granddaughters, Madison Mae and Taylor, who brought him great joy.

Family and friends will be received at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A., 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, MD, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 12:30–2:30 p.m. Following the visitation, friends and family are invited to gather at AMVETS Post 38, 186 Boat Dock Drive, Falling Waters, WV, to continue sharing memories of Kenny.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in memory of Kenny to Hospice of the Panhandle – Palliative Program, whose care and compassion meant so much during his final days. This program operates on the basis of generous community donations. Donations may be sent to: 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.

So sad to hear of my cousin, "Buddy", that´s what I called him when I learned to talk and everyone around the county knew that. He lived next door and we had so much fun growing up with all our cousins, Pat, Sonny,
Johnny Rans. Buddy was loved dearly by all of his family. He was in my thoughts just a couple of days ago. Bye, Buddy. Go be with your mommy.
