Janice L "Jan" Galletti ObituaryIn memory of Janice Lee Galletti "Jan" (Thompson), age 88, of Eastlake, Ohio who passed away Saturday, October 11th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Jan was born on February 21st, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, the only child of Irvin Thompson and Stella Thompson.
Jan was a graduate of Collinwood High School in 1955 and was a proud member of their Collinwood Railroader Alumni group.
Jan married the love of her life, Adam Joseph Galletti, on October 1st, 1955 in Cleveland. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary prior to Adam's death in 2016. She was a loving mom to her three sons and an amazing grandma to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jan was preceded in death by her grandparents: Charles Knoff & Mintie Knoff and Bertha Thompson, her parents: Irving Thompson & Stella Thompson, her loving husband: Adam Galletti and her beloved dog: Elwood.
She is survived by her three children: David, Douglas and Daniel, her daughter-in-laws: Kris and Tina, her grandchildren: Austin (Karmi), Austin, Kassey, Kalvin, Joey and Andy and her great-grandchildren: Caleb, Brooklynn, Lillian and Isabella.
Jan was an amazing woman with a generous heart and soul. She gave selflessly and supported her husband and children in all that they did. She was a proud military wife while her husband served in the Navy. She was an avid bowler and had a knack for party planning and decorating. She was a manager at Hough Bakery until their closing. She assisted her children's PTO and PTA groups for years and happily served as a room mother. She was an active volunteer in the Willoughby South Rebel Mom's club for decades. She was involved in both the Cub Scouts and Boys Scouts of America along with her sons. She was a member of the Willoughby South Band Boosters. She was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan, especially her beloved Cleveland Indians. She loved Lake Erie, Fall leaves and flowers, 50's music, especially Nat King Cole, and dogs. She also loved watching her grandchildren and taking pictures of her family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, October 15th at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave, Willoughby. A Funeral Service will be conducted there at 11am, Thursday, October 16th officiated by Deacon Paul Hlabse. Interment will follow at Knollwood Cemetery.
