Janice Getson Obituary
Born November 25, 1957, in Meyersdale, PA, Ms. Getson was the daughter of the late Ruby (Fate) Gomer and Lewis Gomer, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Gary "Rusty" J. Getson; and her brothers: Lewis, Jr. and Robert Gomer. Janice was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Janice retired as a CNA from Rest Assured Living Center. She loved playing Bingo, listening to Elvis, and taking bus trips with her best friend: Darlene, and her talks with her dear friend: Annetta.
Janice is survived by her children: Amy Smith and husband, Joey, and Frankie Getson; her grandchildren: Keira and Kayla Smith, and Tayler Getson; her nephews: Jimmy Gomer, and John Getson, Jr.; and her niece: Crystal Tuley; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating.
Interment will be in Cook's Cemetery.
