Janice Leigh Grabski, aged 74, passed away peacefully at Dimensions Living in Stevens Point, WI on October 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on August 8, 1951 in Wausau, WI to the late Earl and Ethel Blanchfield. Jan was the youngest of four children, along with her twin sister Judy, and older siblings David and Mary. She graduated from D.C. Everest High School in 1969 and then on to UWSP for her degree in library sciences.
Jan married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Dave on June 14, 1974. They settled in Plover, WI to start their family with their first son, Daniel Scott, born on January 6th, 1978, followed by Brandon Robert on February 12, 1981. Jan spent almost her entire career working for the Stevens Point School District as an LMC Director for over 30 years at Roosevelt, Plover-Whiting, Washington, and McKinley elementary schools, known for reading her stories in character voices. She retired in 2008 to spend more time with her grandchildren.
Jan was a dedicated mother to her two boys, frequently found in the bleachers of whatever sporting event they were participating in. After her retirement that dedication to family seamlessly transitioned to supporting her four grandchildren. In her free time, she was an avid reader, traveling with friends, and always enjoyed putting together a good puzzle. Jan is survived by her sons Daniel (Darcy) and Brandon (Traci), and her four grandchildren, Darren, Ella, Evelynn, and Quinn, and her siblings David, Mary, and Judy. Her love and deep kindness will be greatly missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jan's name to the Alzheimer's Association to further Alzheimer's research.
A Funeral Service for Jan will be held on at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Road, Plover.
