It is with profound sadness and full hearts that we share the passing of Janice Rose Graczyk, who left us peacefully in the early morning hours of May 21, 2025.
Born on February 16, 1941, in Foley, Minnesota, to David and Minnie Strzyzewski, Jan’s life was a remarkable journey marked by devotion- to family, to faith, and most enduringly, to love.
At the center of her story was her bond with her beloved husband, Frank Graczyk. Their love began in the halls of Foley High School, a spark between two teens that quickly grew into a lifelong partnership. They were married on October 20, 1959, and from that day forward, they shared every joy and challenge hand in hand. Their love was never showy, but it was unshakeable- an unspoken understanding, a quiet strength, and a fierce loyalty that guided them for more than six and a half decades.
Jan and Frank built a life in Little Canada, MN, where they raised three sons and one daughter. Jan was a devoted mother, who poured her heart into her family, creating a home filled with laughter and warmth. Jan’s love didn’t stop at home. She was a woman of deep generosity, serving as the Assistant Women’s Athletic Director for the Little Canada Recreation Association and actively participating in church life through the Women of St. Anne’s.
Whether organizing community events or offering someone a listening ear, Jan lived to support others. Her faith was strong, her spirit steady, and her presence a comfort to all who knew her. But above all else, it was her love- most especially the lifelong love she shared with Frank- that defined her.
Jan is survived by her husband, Frank, who remains a living testament to the love they nurtured. She also leaves behind their sons, Randall (Amy), Lee (Antoinette), Mark (Danielle); and daughter, Susan; grandchildren, Kalee, Rhea (Jake), Bauer, Garrett, Tanner, Conrad, Hayden, Connor (Nikki), Kendall, Camree, and Chloe; and great-grandchildren, Rayelin, Ryder, Ramsey, and Jett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Minnie; sisters, Caroline and Marie; and grandson, Carter.
Mass of Christian Burial for Jan will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 30 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 380 E. Little Canada Rd, Little Canada. Visitation will be prior to the mass from 10-11 AM Friday. Burial will be 2:30 PM Friday at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson, WI. All are welcome.
