Janice Graffius Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Blue Mountain Cremation Services - Longmont on Dec. 29, 2025.
Jan Graffius, aged 72 of Longmont, Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in 1952 just two days before Christmas, Jan was the youngest child of Udell "Bud" and Luella Williams. She grew up on a farm near Ord, Nebraska with her brothers Ron and Allen and sister Patricia. In 1973, the family suffered the tragic loss of her brother Allen in an automobile accident. Jan graduated Salutatorian from North Loup-Scotia High School in 1971.

On December 21, 1974, Jan was married to Larry Graffius. Larry became a pastor, and together they spent many years serving and ministering in Seventh Day Baptist congregations in Michigan, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia and New Jersey. They had two sons, Scott and Steven. After nearly 25 years of marriage, Larry passed away suddenly in December, 1999 while celebrating their anniversary in Hawaii.

Following the passing of her husband, Jan resided in Florida, Tennessee, and most recently in Colorado near her sister, Pat. She loved to travel and visit her many friends and family members across the country. She especially enjoyed going to the beach and watching the waves gently lapping the shore.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, with whom she shared many years of loving partnership and ministry. She was also preceded in death by her parents Bud and Luella Williams and brother Allen Williams.

Jan's legacy continues through her surviving brother Ron (wife Deborah), her sister Pat, and sons Scott (wife Megan) and Steven. She was affectionately known as "GG" to her grandchildren Micah, Annabella, Jaydon and Abram, who brought her much joy and happiness.

Jan was a member of Frontier Church - Carbon Valley. She will be remembered for her devotion to her husband and to her Christian faith. She loved celebrating Christmas. She had a fondness for bird-of-paradise flowers. She enjoyed Mackinac Island fudge. Her talent for collecting coupons was renowned far and wide. She is loved and greatly missed.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3rd at 2:00pm at New Horizons Church, 701 Carbondale Dr, Dacono, CO 80514.
