In Loving Memory of Janice (1954–2025)
Janice Harvey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away suddenly on January 16, 2025, surrounded by her cherished family, at the age of 70. She was born on March 15, 1954, in Norwood Massachusetts to the late Harold Peterson and the late Margaret Houle.
Janice a vibrant soul with an infectious laugh and a heart as expansive as the ocean she so dearly loved, passed away too soon.
Janice was a stylish and spirited redhead who lit up every room she entered. Her love for the ocean was profound, and she found solace walking along the shore, collecting seashells, and listening to the gentle symphony of waves. The beach was her sanctuary-deeply connected to the world around her.
Janice's passion extended beyond the sea to the stage. A devoted lover of theater, she spent many evenings with her husband Jim enraptured by performances. Whether in the audience or supporting local productions, Janice believed in the transformative power of art and always encouraged others to chase their creative dreams.
Her greatest joy, however, was her friends and family. Janice was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and an adoring grandmother who filled her home with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She always ensured there were heartfelt conversations, and plenty of hugs to go around. Her impeccable sense of style-marked by her signature red hair and effortlessly chic ensembles-was rivaled only by the grace and kindness with which she treated everyone she met.
Janice's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends: her beloved husband James Harvey of 51 years, her three children; Jeremy Harvey and his partner Melinda, Jonathan Harvey and his wife Camille and Justin Harvey, her six grandchildren Stefan, Lauren, Grace, Ellie, Jack and Lily, her brothers William Peterson, Edward Peterson, numerous nieces, nephews and the many lives she touched through her radiant spirit.
We will remember a woman who brought joy to every corner of her world.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her calling hours at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage Street Monday January 20, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm.
A funeral Mass at St. Mary's Parish, One Church Square Franklin, will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 10:00 am.
Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, will take place immediately following Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Aaron Zenus Foundation in Janice's memory.

I will always remember the conversations we'd have from time to time
about our boys. She often had good advice when I faced a challenge, or when I simply wanted the kind of information that only another mother could provide. She was both knowledgeable and generous with her time. She always, always had a smile and a warm greeting, even when she was in a rush. She was a lovely person, and I will miss her.

I was shocked when Nancy called Thursday. Unthinkable that such an alive person is no longer with us. But she will be with so many as they remember her caring, loving support. And memories that we have.
To every one of her family and friends condolences on our loss.

My deepest sympathies to Janice´s family. It´s impossible to put someone like Janice into words. Her uniqueness didn´t just present in her red hair. Janice was a woman of distinctive character-a rarity. She was kind, reliable, and resilient. She listened without judgement and loved deeply. She stayed the course, one step at a time. A soulful, energetic woman of wisdom, inspiration, humor, courage, and joy. A true testimony of her values was the loving legacy she and Jim created for their family.
There´s no language to express the profound sadness and desperate loss to all of you who loved her. I was blessed to know her and experience her loyal, loving, selfless friendship. My sister, my friend, I am forever grateful and blessed our paths crossed in this life.
During this difficult time, I pray her family can comfort, support, and love each other as Janice would do. I already miss her and love her like the next second! Rest in serenity and peace.
Love & Light, MaryAnn
