Janice Intelisano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Betz, Rossi Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home - Gloversville on Apr. 1, 2024.
Obituary of Janice May Intelisano
In loving memory of Janice M. Intelisano, who entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2024, at Mountain Valley Hospice Home with her loving daughter by her side. Janice was a cherished mother whose beautiful radiant smile graced the world with such love and joy. She was born on April 10th, 1926, to the late James Handy and Beatrice (Manzer) Handy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Sylvester Intelisano; three brothers, Robert, Richard and James Handy; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Alisha M. Intelisano and Seth T. Edwards.
Janice is survived by two children, Nancy M. Edwards of Johnstown and Daniel J. Intelisano and his wife, Patty O'Brien, of Breckenridge, Colorado; three grandchildren, Joshua D. Edwards of Johnstown, Shauna Intelisano and her husband, Dixon Maderos, of Denver, Colorado, and Ayana Pedrick of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a great-granddaughter, Paulette Pedrick of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother, Donald Handy (Shirley) of Gloversville; a sister-in-law, Dolly Handy of Johnstown; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Janice was a 1944 graduate of Gloversville High School. She was a member of the Foothills United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years.
Janice continued her passion for working with children when she became a teacher's aide for HFM BOCES. Janice's patience, kindness and guidance had a very positive influence on the lives of numerous children throughout the twenty-nine years she was employed. She felt teaching was such a rewarding career that she didn't retire until the age of eighty-six.
Janice's family wishes to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for the excellent care demonstrated toward our mother while she was a patient there. They lessened her pain in an incredibly compassionate and gentle way. We will be forever grateful for their kindness.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor her life.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave; Gloversville, New York, 12078 or Johnstown Public Library, 38 So. Market St; Johnstown, New York 12095.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, Gloversville. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.brbsfuneral.com
